Effective filtering

It's NSF-certified to reduce cysts, particulates (class I), lead, mercury, and more. (The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users' water.) While it effectively removes contaminants from your water and ice, this filter also lowers the taste and odor of chlorine while retaining beneficial fluoride.

For the highest quality water and ice, your refrigerator's water filter needs to be changed over a period of time as its effectiveness at cleaning the water is reduced. For optimal results, you should replace this refrigerator water filter every 6 months to ensure clean, safe drinking water and ice.

Your refrigerator will even remind you when to change its filter, turning on an indicator light found near the water dispenser. Changing the filter is easy--just locate the old filter, twist and turn it until it becomes loose, then pull the old filter out and replace with the new filter.

This model (4396841) can be used to replace the following models of water filter:

  • 4396842
  • 8212650

  2. Remove the filter cap by turning it counter clockwise. Set aside cap. Discard old filter.
  3. Remove the packaging and O-ring covers from the new filter.
  4. Align arrows on the cap and new filter. Turn clockwise to snap in place.
  5. Push filter into the base grill until the eject button pops. Gently tug on cap to ensure it is snug.
  6. Flush the water system until a total of 3 gallons (12 L) has been dispensed.

What's New With the Avaya Partner ACS R8?

!±8± What's New With the Avaya Partner ACS R8?

New Features
Some of the most useful new features include:

o Network time synchronization -This is great for users who subscribe to digital or IP trunks using analog gateways. Sometimes providers of these types of lines have clocking in different time zones, and this can produce the wrong time on your system. With the R8, all you have to do is turn off Network Time Synchronization and run your time on the system's internal clock. Problem solved.

o Caller ID on single line phones - This is a great feature for common areas that use single line phones with Caller ID compatible displays. There is no need to add an expensive system phone in these areas. Just purchase a cheaper single line set at your local electronics outfitter. This feature is also great when using devices like the Plantronics CT14 wireless headset. This popular wireless headset is often plugged into the adjunct port of a Partner 18D telephone for mobility. Now, you can see Caller ID information when you're mobile.

o Message Alert Notification - Now you can program a button to alert you of voice messages at someone else's extension. If your office mate is on vacation, then this is certainly an easier way to cover his voice mail. Why walk over to his desk if you don't have to?

Easily upgrade your Partner Plus or Partner II system
Does your programming erase whenever you have a power outage? Do you need more features? Is your current Partner Plus or Partner II phone system hanging on by a shoe string? Well, if the answer to any of these questions is yes, then it may be time to upgrade.

Recoup your investment. An expensive tear-out and re-installation isn't necessary. The Avaya Partner ACS R8 processor is compatible with virtually all of the components in your current Partner Plus or Partner II system (1). Just power down, remove your current processor from the middle slot of your carrier, and slide the Avaya Partner ACS R8 processor in. With the upgrade, you're now compatible with the Partner ACS 308EC expansion module, so if you have any questionably functioning expansion modules, then you can swap these with the 308EC.

You will have to re-program the phone answering system (or your installer will), but that's a small price to pay for such an easy upgrade to a superior system.

Compatible devices include:

o Line/Station Modules - 200, 200E, 400, 400EC, 206, 206EC, 362EC, 308EC, 012E, ACS T1, and 1600 DSL modules

o System Telephones - Partner MLS-6/12/12D/18D/34D, Partner Eurostyle 6/18/18D/34D, and Partner Eurostyle Series 2 6D/18D/34D

o Voicemail Systems - Partner Mail VS 1.0/3.0/4.0/4.1/5.0, Partner Messaging R1/R6/R7, and Partner Voice Messaging PC Card R2/R3S/R3L

Powerful and inexpensive start for your small business
The Avaya Partner ACS R8 processor has five lines and nine stations built-in. This capacity covers most small business communication needs in one compact unit. Even better, voice mail is a snap. You can add up to 16 mailboxes and automated attendant with a PC card style voice mail that slides right into the processor.

With expansion capacity to around 15 lines and 40 stations (configuration dependent), the Partner ACS will grow when you're business grows. Larger and more robust voicemail systems, the improved Avaya 3920 wireless telephone, music on-hold, and paging support provide your business with a well-rounded communication system that will never leave you short of features.

The Partner ACS is the most popular small business phone system in America. With millions of users, it has great support. Many voice and data professionals are well versed in its installation and programming procedures, so you'll have no problem contracting an installation. In addition, the secondary or used market for Partner equipment is enormous which is wonderful for the cost-conscious consumer. Refurbished phones, voicemails, and expansion modules can save you a great deal of money.

With a new release and continued support, a cost-effective upgrade path, and a flourishing secondary market, the Avaya Partner ACS R8 phone answering system is hard to beat.

(1) Partner ACS does not support the Partner II Expansion Unit (e.g. second carrier). 5-Slot carrier must be model 103F or greater.

The Cordless Headset Phone - The Ultimate Hands Free Device

!±8± The Cordless Headset Phone - The Ultimate Hands Free Device

How strange it is that we are still holding telephone handsets to our heads some 150 years after Alexander Graham Bell yelled "Watson, come here! I want to see you!" As a consequence of his invention we became adept at one handed eating, drinking, dressing, cooking, working... even love making. Progress has been slow, but finally the cordless headset phone is catching on.

The cordless headset phone is not to be confused with a simple cordless phone headset. It's a wearable cordless phone that comes with a headset. The package almost always includes a compact dial pad that can be tucked into a pocket or hooked onto a belt. It's a liberating hands free device. After more than a hundred years of using telephones, we can finally use them while walking about and multi-tasking with "both" hands.

The first generation of cordless headset phones were little more than a cordless phone on a belt clip. The most popular were 900 MHz GE phones. The GE cordless headset phone had a cult following. Sadly the cult didn't grow fast enough for GE and they abandoned the space. Other manufacturers subsequently filled the breach. They released 2.4 GHz and DECT 6.0 hands free phones.

The DECT 6.0 wireless headset telephone is a major advance on the cordless home phone of even a few years ago. It enables business executives, working mothers and home based business operators to move about and use both hands while speaking on the phone. DECT 6.0 technology is a key factor. It not only eliminates cordless phone interference, but also extends battery life and cordless phone range. The Plantronics cordless headset phone - CT14 is in a league of it's own. It has hardly any direct competition. It combines good looks with comprehensive functionality.

The next generation of headset phone is a hands free cordless phone that can be used almost anywhere. It's Bluetooth enabled headset is compatible with DECT 6.0, cell phone and VoIP networks. It can be used at home, in the car or in the office. No need to switch headsets or earpieces. The benchmark is the Plantronics Calisto Pro, but similar phones are also made by Jabra, GN Telecom and AT&T.

It's taken a while but we are almost there. The hands free cordless phone is about to become ubiquitous.
